Meet The Chef

Christabel Mendonca

Hailing from Mumbai, India, I have always loved to cook and have had a keen interest in learning different cuisines.

Hence I completed my hospitality studies and for further Higher Culinary Education studied in Dubai, UAE with certification from City and Guilds.

After, working my way up from renowned five star hotels like the Oberoi hotel in Mumbai and the The Ritz Carlton in Dubai, I had the opportunity to expand my horizon and gain more international experience by joining the Convivia Bistro team, a place where I get to express my passion as a Chef.

Suzie St-Cyr

St-Cyr’s knowledge and passion for service is what makes her outstanding and her desire for excellence makes her the ideal person to serve you with style.

She has over 25 years of extensive hospitality management and service industry experience: catering management, corporate & Special Event Planner and Convention Manager. She has worked at several hotels, resorts, independent restaurants and catering businesses such as: Le Café de Paris, Grouse Mountain, Sheraton Hotel , Lazy Gourmet, Executive Inn, Holiday Inn, Delta Grand Okanagan.

She was also owner and operator of two successful destination bed & breakfasts and retreats, Sakinaw Lake Lodge on the Sunshine Coast of BC for six years prior to moving to Kelowna.

Romain

Chef

After several years working in construction as a project coordinator, I decided to start all over again, and make a living from cooking, which I have been passionate about since my childhood. So I studied culinary in France and was able to work for Chef Ferrer in Quebec. I also worked in a French Bistro in the Hochelaga district where the staff were cooking enthusiasts, hungry for knowledge, which helped me in spending my days reading cookbooks and trying to create new recipes. With the COVID epidemic, new opportunities were presented to me at the Convivia restaurant, with Charles and Johanne who let me express my cuisine and create dishes.

Edy Christel

Cook

After obtaining his Food Certificate at the Pellegrini Training Center in 2006, Mr. Edy Christel N’Gatsele worked as a cook at Pellegrini Catering until 2014 and then as chef cuisinier at Taylors International Services Inc. until 2018. He then continued his career with CBG Consulting and as 2021 with Sodexo in Pointe Noire, Congo.

Quentin Mereu

Restaurant Manager and Sommelier

Hailing from Lyon, France, where I studied as Sommelier and Restaurant Manager. I have the passion and the culture of food and wine since over 15 years. I got the chance to travel and to work in many great places around the world like Three stars Michelin restaurant Troisgros, Palace Ritz Paris, Five stars Hotel Barthelemy at Saint-Barth. I had the opportunity to expand my international experience by joining the Convivia Bistro Team, where I can express myself as Restaurant Manager and Sommelier.
